Film star Hugh Jackman opened the 2019 Brit Awards on Wednesday (Feb. 20) with a performance of his theme from the hit musical The Greatest Showman, the bombastic "The Greatest Show."

The peformance was predictably eye-popping and showstopping, with dozens of acrobats and backing dancers and other extras swarming the stage. At the eye of the storm was Jackman, wearing a silver suit, and totally in the command of the surrounding madness, his voice still carrying over all the commotion.

A blockbuster success in the United States, the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman has performed even better in the U.K., where it spend a staggering 28 weeks at No. 1 on the Official Charts Company's albums chart. "The Greatest Show" was also a hit single on both sides of the Atlantic, reaching No. 88 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 20 on the U.K. songs chart.

Jackman will be hitting the road this summer for his The Man. The Music. The Show. tour, performing tracks from Greatest Showman and other musicals he's acted in, backed by a live orchestra.
