This weekend saw Will Ferrell and his cowbell join Coldplay‘s Chris Martin for a performance at a benefit concert. See footage below.

Held at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater, Martin and Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Chad Smith were among the stars came out for the Cancer For College benefit, “Will Ferrell’s Best Night Of Your Life”.

During the show, Ferrell referenced his now-legendary SNL ‘More Cowbell’ sketch, when he ran on stage to lend his cowbell skills to the Coldplay single ‘Viva La Vida’.

The evening also saw Ferrell do a sketch where he twerked as Donald Trump (in disguise as George W. Bush), perform interviews in the style of Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy, as well as reuniting with lookalike Chad Smith to perform with their Super Mega Funktastic Jam Rock All-Stars supergroup – featuring Martin, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Josh Klinghoffer, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, Dave Matthews Band’s Stefan Lessard, and Brad Paisley.

Meanwhile, Coldplay’s profits from touring last year were recently revealed.

The band played 63 shows in 2017, including shows in the UK, Asia, Europe and North America. Their last show was at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata in Argentina. The Chris Martin-led group’s touring company, Flock Of Birds, reported a turnover of £63,667,007 in their accounts. Their profit for 2017 was reported at £38.4 million.

The turnover can reportedly be broken down as £59.1 million of performance fees and promotional support, plus £4.5 million in merchandise and royalties. European shows on the ‘A Head Full Of Dreams‘ tour brought in £32.4 million, while those in Asia gained £22 million.

For South America, that figure was £6.2 million and, in North America, they made £2.1 million from merchandising.
