They've nailed it

HAIM and Emma Stone have joined forces to re-create an iconic Spice Girls music video – all to help raise money for a number of charities.

The HAIM sisters and Academy Award winner Emma Stone can be seen recreating the dance moves to the classic 1997 Spice Girls song ‘Stop’, while lip-syncing their way through the song.

In collaboration with fundraising platform Omaze, the women are offering fans a chance to attend a Spice Girls concert in London with them and meet the iconic girl group backstage. Entries are made in the form of donations, which will go to charities such as the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Girl Up, and Child Mind Institute.

In the video, HAIM and Stone follow the original dance moves, breaking it up to give details of the charities and how fans can donate and enter the competition.

The Spice Girls will reunite for a string of stadium shows in the UK and Ireland this summer, their first in more than a decade. However, it’s not a return of the full line up as Victoria Beckham confirmed she would not be joining the rest of her bandmates – Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell – on the huge run of shows that kick off in May.

Recently their manager, Simon Fuller, also revealed there is an animated movie about the band in the works.

Speaking in a lengthy interview with Billboard, Fuller, 58, revealed that as well as their much-anticipated live return, the band will be working on an animated movie. He said: “What’s coming next is that we are going to be doing lots of exciting things. We’ll be making an animated movie and there’s lots of exciting plans to come.”

Speaking about the return, Fuller admitted he wasn’t surprised about the huge response for the tour.

He added: “To be honest with you, while it was clearly phenomenal, they are such an awesome phenomenon I expected it…The last tour we did seven or eight years ago the demand was equal, if not maybe even more. It’s a global phenomenon. They’re more timely now than ever and it’s fantastic.”
