Josh Homme, Miley Cyrus and Fiona Apple have all just been announced to the line-up

The line-up for today’s tribute show in memory of Chris Cornell has swelled to include the likes of Josh Homme and Miley Cyrus, who join such huge names as Metallica, Ryan Adams and Foo Fighters on the bill.

Cornell, who was renowned as the frontman of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave, passed away on May 17, 2017. He was 52.

First announced back in November, ‘I Am The Highway’ will take place later today (January 16) at The Forum in Los Angeles. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the concert has been billed as “an epic night of music, taking fans on an unforgettable journey through Chris’s legendary career and catalogue”. All proceeds from the show will go towards The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation and The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.

As well as the likes of the Foos, Adams and Metallica, late additions to the line-up include Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Miley Cyrus, Fiona Apple, Chris Stapleton, Miguel and Brandi Carlile.

The Melvins are also expected to perform tonight, with the group set to join the surviving members of Soundgarden for a special performance.

Speaking about the concert, Cornell’s widow Vicky said: “We are honoured to have all these amazing artists and friends come together to pay tribute to and show their love and appreciation for Chris, his music and the mark he’s left on the world. We look forward to sharing this night with all the fans.”

Back in November, Cornell’s son Christopher Cornell Jr. starred in the video for his late father’s posthumous single ‘When Bad Does Good’.
