Florida Georgia Line Say 'Anything Goes' for New Album
During a summer concert series performance this morning on ABC's Good Morning America, Florida Georgia Line announced the title and release date of their anticipated new album. Anything Goes, the follow-up to the double-platinum Here's to the Good Times, will hit stores October 14th.
Named after a carpe diem rallying cry on the album — "Anything goes on a Friday night," go the song's lyrics — Anything Goes was produced by the duo's regular collaborator Joey Moi. Tyler Hubbard says the transition from Here's to the Good Times to Anything Goes was an organic one.
"We have always taken pride in not overthinking too much as far as the creative process goes. We stick to the motto of better is better and let's fight for the best song and give it all we got," Hubbard tells Rolling Stone Country. "We just do what feels right, roll with the punches and see where it leads. This second album has come together nicely, all organically and natural."
Along with Number One single "Dirt" and the title track, Anything Goes includes the vibrant stoner anthem "Sun Daze," the moody "Confession" and the nostalgic "Smoke."
"I think we're all in a really creative spot," says Brian Kelley. "Joey is pushing us harder, he's gotten better at what he does, we've all gotten better and more comfortable. The success from [Here's to the Good Times] has really given us a lot of confidence. Confidence to come in here and work hard and try things, from different melodies and different harmonies to who's going to sing lead. It's a natural progression of music."
Florida Georgia Line are currently on tour with Jason Aldean. The trek stops in St. Louis for two nights on August 22nd and 23rd.
