They remain in a critical condition

Two people have been hospitalised after suspected MDMA overdoses at the one-day Reminisce Festival in Merseyside.

A 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man remain in a critical condition. It is believed they both took blue diamond ecstasy pills.

The event organisers, who are supporting the police, tweeted a warning to festival-goers about “some ‘bad’ blue diamond pills”.

The message said: “We love to see you having an awesome time at Reminisce, but be safe!

“There has been information about some “bad” blue diamond pills.

“If you are concerned about you or a friend approach some help from stewards or present to one of the onsite medical centres.”

A number of other people at the one-day festival have also been taken to hospital. Around 14,000 people attended the event that included performances from 2 Unlimited, Cascada and Angie Brown.

The police issued a statement urging anyone who has had an adverse reaction to the pills to visit a medical centre as soon as possible.

Detective Inspector Paul Grounds said: “If you are still in possession of any drugs from the event, please do not take them under any circumstances but let us know and we will recover them for further enquiries to be made.”

“We want to hear from people who know who supplied these drugs or from those who took the drugs and experienced an adverse reaction. You can come forward directly to police or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
