Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora has opened up about quitting the band.

The guitarist oulled out of the band's Because We Can world tour back in April citing a "personal matter". He also pulled out of the band's UK summer gig at London's Hyde Park.

Rumours at the time suggested that he had disagreed with his bandmates over money. However, in a new interview, he has dismissed these claims, saying he needed to take time off the road to spend time with his family.

"Honestly, I went out for the first leg of the tour, I had no idea this was going to happen," he told Billboard. "I just started spending time with my kid between [tour] legs, and my spirit wouldn’t pull myself out the door. I just needed to be home".

Sambora said that he is still making music. He released two singles, 'Come Back As Me' and 'Engine 19' this year and says he hopes to rejoin the group in the future.

"I think so, yeah, I'm pretty sure," he said. "I don't think it’s going to be the end of the band or anything like that."
