The frontman has shared a list of songs he's enjoying with fans

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has shared a list of songs that he thinks are “wonderful”, featuring The 1975, Lizzo, Rosalía, and more.

The frontman posted the short selection of tracks on the band’s Instagram account earlier today (January 12) for their first post of the year.

“Happy new year to all of you,” he wrote. “I hope you’re doing well. Here are some songs I think are wonderful. C.” His recommendations included a mix of both current and old songs, with the latter including AC/DC’s 1990 track ‘Thunderstruck’.

The full list of tracks was as follows:

Lizzo – ‘Juice’
The 1975 – ‘Love It If We Made It’
Rosalía – ‘Malamente’
Stormzy – ‘Blinded By Your Grace pt 1’
AC/DC – ‘Thunderstruck’
Daniel Caesar – ‘We Find Love’
Wizkid, Spellz, and Tiwa Savage – ‘Ma Lo’

Last year, it was reported that Coldplay are set to return in 2019 to work on a “surprising” new album. The band’s friend and collaborator Mat Whitecross told NME in November: “This year, they decided to take off. They haven’t been doing anything as far as I know, but they do have plans for next year however I’ve not been party to them.

“I’ve heard a few things and filmed a few bits of them talking about it, but I don’t think I’m allowed to share anything. It’s interesting […] They always want to be challenging themselves and surprising other people – that’s why they work with people like Brian Eno. In that sense, I’m sure whatever they do next will surprise people.”

Meanwhile, November also saw the release of two new tracks by the band, under the name Los Unidades. They appeared on ‘Global Citizen EP 1’, which was curated by Martin and featured collaborations between the group, Pharrell, Casper Nyovest, and Stargate.
