Arctic Monkeys to auction signed exhibition prints for charity
Got some spare money? Get a snap out of it...
Arctic Monkeys have announced details of a charity auction to win 12 limited edition prints, personally signed by the band.
The prints, which were taken by Zackery Michael, capture the band during the recording and touring of their acclaimed latest album ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino‘ between November 2017 and August 2018.
After being exhibited in London and Sheffield, the images will now be sold to raise funds for leading youth homelessness charity Centrepoint.
The 12 images capture the band during studio photo shoots, as well as showcasing some of their earliest performances on the ‘Tranquility Base…’ tour.
The auction opens from 9AM on September 25 and you can bid here.
Describing his time with the band, Zackery Michael said: “They are more than the Arctic Monkeys to me.
“These four gentlemen from Yorkshire are my friends. The images exhibited are a very honest portrayal of that friendship.”
The auction comes as the band prepare to wind down their UK tour with two final shows at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena.
Last week, they returned to Sheffield for a string of four homecoming shows.
They marked the occasion by reviving some of their oldest tracks – including ‘Flourescent Adolescent’ and ‘A Certain Romance’.
On Friday evening (September 21), John Cooper Clarke also introduced the band on stage with a reading of his 1982 poem, ‘I Wanna Be Yours’. The Monkeys turned Cooper Clarke’s words into a track of the same name for their fifth album ‘AM’.
