The Last Shadow Puppets pair perform a classic

Alex Turner made a surprise appearance at a Miles Kane gig in Paris tonight (October 4).

The musicians, who together play in The Last Shadow Puppets, joined forces for a rendition of their 2008 single ‘Standing Next to Me’.

SoundOfBrit posted on Twitter: “ALEX TURNER LADIES AND GENTS #MILESKANE #Paris #lastshadowpuppets.”

Kane has supported Turner on stage numerous times. The Arctic Monkeys frontman has returned the favour before in Paris, such as back in 2012.

Kane is currently promoting ‘Coup de Grace’, his third record as a solo artist. In his three-star review, NME’s Mark Beaumont said that the record is “fitfully inspired” but “isn’t quite the killer blow he hoped for”.

Meanwhile, Turner recently wrapped up homecoming shows in Sheffield with the Arctic Monkeys. You can read NME’s latest cover feature with the band here.

The Last Shadow Puppets released ‘Everything You’ve Come to Expect’ in 2016 and their debut album, ‘The Age of Understatement’, in 2008. Both records reached number 1 in the UK album charts.

Last year, a video emerged showing Turner, Kane and Lana Del Rey singing an Elton John song at karaoke. The trio performed John’s 1971 hit ‘Tiny Dancer’.
