Aerosmith were forced to cancel their concert in Concord, California, Wednesday night just hours before taking the stage "due to illness," the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band posted on their official website. However, TMZ is reporting that drummer Joey Kramer is suffering from heart complications that will require the band to cancel some upcoming tour dates as well, including their gig at George, Washington's Gorge Amphitheatre on Saturday night. A representative for the group did not confirm or deny the report, telling Rolling Stone, "We have no further information to report at this time."

The Let Rock Rule tour currently has 10 dates left and is scheduled to run through September 12th, concluding at Nova Scotia's Cape Fest. In June, Aerosmith nixed the Kiev, Ukraine date of their Let Rock Rule tour due to unrest in the region.

Health issues have plagued the band throughout the past decade. Bassist Tom Hamilton missed nearly the band's entire 2006 jaunt while recovering from throat and tongue cancer. Joe Perry Project bassist David Hull replaced Hamilton for that trek. Aerosmith was also forced to cancel dates when Steven Tyler fell off the stage during a performance in Sturgis, South Dakota, in August 2009, resulting in a broken shoulder and 20 stitches.

Also in 2009, rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford missed the opening dates of the band's tour after undergoing surgery following a serious head injury, with guitarist Bobby Schneck substituting for Whitford during those missed tour dates. Hamilton had to depart Aerosmith's Australian tour again in 2013 "due to illness."

In May, Perry told Rolling Stone the band's future was uncertain following the tepid response to 2012's Music From Another Dimension. "Our contract to Sony is fulfilled and we're free agents right now," Perry said. "We're trying to figure out what that means. I don't even know if making new albums makes sense anymore. Maybe we'll just release an EP every six months. I don't know what the future looks like."
