Back at the site of their first ever London gig

The 1975 have confirmed details of a tiny London show early next month.

Frontman Matty Healy confirmed that his band will head to the Camden Assembly on December 4 by posting a picture of a mural opposite the venue – which has been painted in their honour – on Twitter this evening (November 22).

“In December 2012, The 1975 played their first London headline show at Camden Barfly,” the elaborate mural reads. “On 4th December 2018, the band return to play a one-off show for their top listeners on Spotify Premium.” See the post below, as well as a closer look at the mural.

Spotify have now announced further details about how fans will be able to get their hands on tickets for the intimate show.

“Spotify Premium will welcome The 1975’s biggest listeners to watch them perform live at the first London venue the band ever headlined,” the streaming service confirmed. They directed fans to take a look at the band’s curated playlist, This Is: The 1975.

Speaking about the gig, Healy said: “We are really looking forward to being back at the venue where we played our first London show, it will be great to share that moment with our top listeners on Spotify Premium.”

The show will mark five years since their first London show at the venue, back when it was known as the Camden Barfly.

The London gig comes only a week after the band announced that they will play Kingston’s New Slang club night on November 29. Next week will also see the band releasing their brand new album, ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’.
