I am new in Torrent World and in SeedBoxes. I start using Private trackers but to maintain the ratio I can understand that I must need a SeedBox.

I have some Questions about Seedboxes:

1) If I buy a seedbox, do I need to upload all my downloaded data to the seedbox to maintain my ratio?
2) If I do not have a very good upload speed then is there any benefit of buying a seedbox?
3) Can I maintain my ratio of different private trackers by 1 seedbox?
4) What are the other benefits of seedbox?
5) If I buy a seedbox for 1 month and upload my data on it. Then I will not upgrade my plan for the next month. Will it drops my ratio instantly?

Looking forward for the replies of these questions.

First thing, in simple words, you can call seedbox 'a 24*7 running, online torrent client with good speed'.

Now answers:

1) No, seedbox's upload speeds are good, just add the .torrent to your seedbox and it'll start leeching, once done 100%, it'll seed the torrent to others. Since the UL speed is good, you are able to upload very much and keep the ratio maintained.

2) Depends. You can download the data in your box and then download the data in your PC (via FTP). Mostly don't use PC for leeching on private trackers as your UL speed will be lower than other users (most users have seedbox) and you won't be able to seed much and might get your ratio lowered.

3) Yes.

4) I can't tell much.

5) Once you get UL credit on trackers, it doesn't get removed.

a seedbox is a very fast download/upload internet connection with a hard disk drive to keep the files.

1) Just download everything to your seedbox. Then, you can transfer them to your computer with various ways, like fttp (speed will be the one by your home connection).
If you want to upload a file of yours in a tracker, you need to tranfer it first to your seedbox. That way, with the great upload speed of the seedbox, you will upload much data and raise your ratio very much. If you choose not to upload the file to seedbox, you will seed it from your computer with your home connection. Which, in most countries, is very much slower

2) This is exacty why seedboxes exist!
If everyone had a very fast home connection, owners of seedboxes companies should be looking for another job

3) Certainly. It's exactly like your home client. You can download and upload to any private tracker you want.
(some seedboxes do not allow public trackers).


4) The major advantage is the ultra fast upload speed, so you can have a superb ratio very easily in every tracker.
Plus, you don't have to keep your computer open all day and all of the night to seed.

5) If you buy a seedbox for just 1 month and then stop using it, you will.. see the difference and look forward to buy again
It's a very useful torrent tool, and you will understand it by using it.
But even if you want to "test" it just for a month, your ratio after this month will be very high, and ....that's it.
Ratios drop only when you download much and seed less

So if I have a .torrent file on my main computer and it's already been downloaded, how do I move it to the seedbox? Does it have to download the same torrent file again from the same tracker?

use a ftp client (filezilla, cuteftp) to upload your data to the seedbox

@chinski Just imagine the seedbox as a computer in another room, that you do not have access physically, but have remote control on it, so if you want to leech something you already downloaded on another computer, you have to send it to your seedbox hard drive, they are many ways you can do that, check out Bittorrent Sync, goes really well once set up and more secure than FTP. I use both, BTSync for large files and FTP for smaller files, I do get crappy FTP speeds out of my seedbox but really fast speeds from BTSync !

You can do 2 things:

(Assuming you have the movie on your PC)

1) Create a .torrent in uTorrent (or any other torrent client) of the movie with public trackers. Upload the .torrent to seedbox, seedbox will download the data.
2) Transfer your movie to seedbox via FTP (You'll get it when you buy seedbox). Make .torrent on seedbox.
