    Renting out Seedbox from Home

What are your thoughts on renting out seedbox from home? I'm planning on getting a 1Gbps fiber connection at home and was looking at ways to utilize it

lol man. Just don't do it. It's risky even to download your own torrents from your home IP. And it's obviously even riskier other guys to download through your home IP

You can buy a VPN for yourself or a seedbox.

buy a VPN your ISP will not have a clue about what you do!

    Some seedbox also have vpns

I was thinking of limiting use case to private trackers only. The main issues I can think of is having same bittorrent accs and sharing 1 IP address will get you banned.

Usually sharing IP is only issue for some Chinese/ Japanese tracker other trackers won't mind seeding from same IP (as many users use shared seedboxes) but browsing will definitively call for ban. But you are going to use your home connection so rule may not apply for you.

You considered getting a dedicated seedbox then renting out accounts on it?

    my 2 cents

    my 2 cents mate,

if i were you, i wouldnt do it. its not worth the risk. you would have constant battles with copyright groups, youre ISP and not to mention your very own would be clients.

yeah sure, it sounds like a good idea on paper, but when you really think about it, do you really want to deal with all the headache of running a seedbox on your own home?

just enjoy the GB connection you're planning to get or already have. save yourself from the trouble, but then again, ball's on your court.

    cheers
