There's a bewildering array of seedboxes out there and I've been sifting through them until my eyes have crossed. It occurred to me that I might be better off to ask for recommendations instead of getting eyestrain.

My (first) seedbox is with FileStream.me. It does a lot of what I need, however.... there's one thing it doesn't do and that's allow for partial downloads. I'm a comic book fan and there are some great archives for comics going as far back as the 1930's, but they're sometimes 15 gig + and have a lot of cmmics that I don't want. Or at least want right now. uTorrent spoiled me with allowing me to pick and chose which files I wanted to download at a time. I'm certain I can do this with a seedbox and not have to worry about my ISP -- which would let me reseed more than I currently do.

I'd appreciate recommendations for affordable seedboxes that allow for partial downloads. Everybody has different ideas on affordable, so let's say in the $10 a month range, max. It's rare for me to download more than 1-2 gig at a time, usually 1 or less, and I download 150-200 gig a month.

There's so many seedbox options, I'd really appreciate some advice from people who have a lot more experience than I do.

rtorrent can do this, No idea how filestream.me is working but any seedbox that has rutorrent can definitely do this by going to Files tab, right click, priority, don't download

I pinned support at FileStream.me down and they finally admitted there's no way to do a partial. I tried your suggestion, just to double check, but nada. Thx, tho!

SeedHost has some plans that fit your budget and you can also install Deluge if you want something else than ruTorrent, it's a really stable host and I've been using them for ages with no issues.

Wow strange. So you don't have the option there? maybe it's a missing plugin then.

It's a really bare bones set up. On the one hand it's easy to use, on the other it doesn't do what I need.

Now that I have a real seedbox from Seedhost, I do have that option. Thx!
