    Question help please i want to reduce movie size

    hi everyone can i reduce a movie downloaded as HD to something lower like 480 and seed it again i already have ssh access

    You mean to re-encode it on seedbox side? Haven't heard of something like this. I guess if it's a dedicated seedbox with root access there might be some Linux command line encoding tools you can use but I cannot offer more info

    Yes you can re-encode an HD movie to a smaller size, and i dont know what you mean by seeding it again, if you mean you wanna upload that smaller size movie as a new torrent then yes you can

    as Kingo said, you need a Desktop GUI to do that, and if you have Desktop access and want the simplest method then use Handbrake to re-encode the files, or if you want to try something more advanced then try Megui, i used to be an encoder and always used Megui as its more advanced.

    @weely I'm not familiar with encoding software but since Handbrake was mentioned search for HandbrakeCLI. They have thorough instructions.

    You can do this in windows using x264 cli or any x264 gui's like handbrake, staxrip, hybrid...etc. You can read more about these softwares on doom9. It's not really a good idea to use an already compressed encode as the source. Get the full bluray or remux and use x264 to create an sd encode.
