I am looking to get SeedBox, but before I jump to this, there few question which I had. I have learned about this recently and still trying to figure out certain aspect of this features. For this, I know there are guides and videos to help me better understand.

Firstly, I already have an Private VPN, even though seedbox provides whole package that includes VPN/storage/server. In this case, are there any option to use my vpn to use with seedbox. Secondly, even before seeing the benefit of seedbox, I would have to sign up with private tracker that are open. I believe a lot of private tracker do not allow to vpn is that right? I am confused on a particular area, how are the private tracker able to track my ratio when I will be in anonymous most of the time.
I have noticed there was a forum section for seedbox sales, So when I am purchasing one, does this mean I getting a dedicated server for myself. Can you guys recommend me as to which one to get in terms of reliablity/lowcost/speed. Thank you

Hi, let me try and explain things to the best of my knowledge:

1. Mind if i ask whats your VPN? im asking because most seedboxes use OpenVPN or NordVPN. if you have any seedbox provider in mind, you can try contacting them and ask if they allow connections from your specific VPN, if not, you can always trust the VPN service provided in most seedbox offers and use them instead.

2. Yes, some trackers have issues with VPN which is why it is better to use the VPN service provided by the seedbox as it is mostly accepted on many private tracker.

3. Private trackers are able to track your ratio via the unique account passkey that you use when you download a torrent file on their tracker. This passkey is unique and very specific to each user registered on the tracker. You also need this passkey when you configure youre seedbox to automatically download torrents that are announced in the trackers's IRC channel.

4. Are you getting a dedicated server? well, it depends on the service you will buy/rent. There is a service called dedicated box/server in which you are the only user for that server and you also have a dedicated bandwidth to your server. There is also a service called shared box/server in which as the name implies, you are sharing the server with different users. In this setup, you are sharing everything, from the hardware resources up to the bandwidth connection. Of course, dedicated server/box is more expensive than the shared one.

5. As per the seedbox suggestions, from personal experience, you can check seedhost.eu for their services. They have a seedbox for as low as 5 euros and they have good speeds and excellent technical support. Most hardcore users here in TI uses seedboxes.cc as their provider, from their personal review of this provider, you can also be sure that the service is good. And check the seedbox reviews forum so you can have an idea of what to look for.

That is something good to know. Generally, do they allow third party vpn to work with seedbox.

Okay. Basically after downloading the torrent file from the ptracker, the pass key will embedded in the torrent file. each particular key has unique identification to it. How would I config this in my seedbox or Rtorrent, what are the steps to follow.

I believe, I would get a shared box server, since as you mentioned the price point is higher when it's dedicated. However, sharing isn't bad unless what the other person is using it for. As long as, Its good speed and not slowed down.


5. I will check out seedhost.eu, also, I have looked into the seedboxes.cc review posted by one of the user. There are so many, overwhelmed by the amount seedbox server. If someone had to choose between 2 top ones, which one would it be in your list.

Technically, You can use almost any VPN in order to transfer your files from the seedbox to your own PC. Seedbox providers usually suggest a certain VPN services because it is whats most likely to work perfectly in their servers. From my own experience, I use any VPN i have, the purpose is that you can hide your torrent activity from your ISP when youre downloading the files from seedbox to your PC. But then again, i usually end up using what the seedbox provider suggests as it is configured perfectly for their server PLUS they also have the settings ready, you just have to download them and load it up in the VPN

When you are in your seedbox, there are some settings there where you can set which private tracker you wish to download torrents automatically and there is also a settings where you can paste your account passkey for that private tracker. You will also have to configure the IRC announce channel for your tracker. Most private trackers provide a step by step guide in how to configure your seedbox properly but to be honest, it is almost just the same. You can send me a message the moment you have your seedbox and private tracker so i can help you configure them.

Actually, I have never tried seedboxes.cc but almost all veterans TI users vouch for it so it is a safe bet that you will have a perfect experience using them. The only problem i have is the price, seedboxes.cc is a little expensive for me, but hey, if you got the money, i suggest you try them first. you can never go wrong with seedboxes.cc. I personally use seedhost.eu, from my usage type, its just what i need plus a little cheaper for me. LOL. Either of the two above, im sure you will be fine.

As has been said most seedboxes will allow third party VPN's. Seedboxes.cc provides a VPN, but using their VPN does count against the data up/down threshold. I will say that as long as you have a trusted VPN you're good to go with any seedbox you choose (From my experience).

To a degree that is correct. Some do and some don't. It depends on the tracker. A lot of the trackers will not allow you "signup" with the VPN. But once you have signed up you can use your VPN without problems. Most of them don't have issues with this, but not all are ok with it. Read the FAQ and reviews of the tracker, and ask around here. You'll get some good answers. I know IPT and PrivateHD hasn't had problems with my VPN, not yet.

Though it is "anonymous" they track the torrent. So when you download the torrent it is associated with your account. Once you upload the torrent reports back what you're doing. If you have seedbox and the tracker has an option for making that known, you just enter that you have one and the IP address/host.
Also, it should be noted that as long as you are consistent and check your ratio you can alert staff if there are problems. If you get a ban for any reason you can talk with them and explain the situation of using a seedbox.

There are dedicated slots/servers but they are generally more expensive. Which one is best, is up for debate. RapidSeed is decent, but price for storage is not the best, IMO. However RapidSeed allows you to run handbrake which you can compress your files right there on the seedbox, and run plex as well.

Seedboxes.cc is nice, I like it alot. The prices are a bit steep, but you get a lot of nice applications (sickrage, sickbeared, seedbucket, plex and so on). I also use seedbox.io. I enjoy their price for the year, but they are offering only a seedbox, no plex, no apps of any kind outside of the torrent client. But I can download on it with great speeds and have a backup of all my files.
