I would highly recommend getting a dedicated server. Once you learn some Linux basics, you'll never look back. The cost for dedicated has lowered throughout the years, and there's no reason not to get it now.
If you do end up going with a dedicated, don't make the mistake of getting the cheapest one. You will regret a dedicated server with 1-2gb of RAM with a nano processor. Trust me, this setup will leave a sour taste in your mouth and you will be the guy raging about how "XYZ services are horrible and slow!". They are dirt cheap for a reason. At the very MINIMUM, I would not settle for anything less than a Atom processor with 4gb of ram, but I can recommend anything i3+ with 8gb+ of ram for doing some extra fun stuff.

Could anyone point me in the right direction on getting started with a dedicated server? I can catch on real quick and I understand the concept, but I need a YouTube video or manual on setting one up. Any resources for this kindof information would be great. Thanks.
