Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 Redstone preview build for members of the Insider program, finally delivering major feature improvements that are expected to be part of the final update coming this summer too.

Windows 10 Redstone build 14291 is available only for fast ring users and brings one of the most anticipated features in this major update to the core operating system: browser extensions.
Originally planned for Threshold 2 (November Update), browser extensions are now available in preview stage in Windows 10 build 14291, so Edge users can further expand the functionality of the application with add-ons.
At this point, there are only a few extensions available on Edge, but more will very likely be released in the coming weeks and months, as Microsoft will discuss them in detail at the BUILD developer conference taking place in just a couple of weeks.
Other Microsoft Edge improvements In addition to browser extensions, Microsoft Edge has also been updated with options to pin tabs, a feature that’s supposed to bring the default Windows 10 browser in line with other apps, like as Chrome and Firefox, which already boast such functionality. Pinning and unpinning tabs can be easily done by simply right-clicking a specific tab.
“Pinned tabs don’t show a close button, so you won’t accidentally close them. Pinned tabs that are in your Microsoft Edge window when you close the app will come back the next time you open Microsoft Edge,” Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has explained.
Furthermore, there are several other Microsoft Edge improvements in this build, such as the eagerly anticipated “paste and go” option in the context menu when right-clicking the address bar. This allows you to quickly load a website should you have the link in the clipboard. The same is valid for standard text thanks to the “paste and search” feature.
This build also comes with several other improvements and fixes, so there’s no reason not to update to this version if you’re already an insider.

Update 2: Microsoft has also released Windows 10 Mobile build 14291 that comes with almost the same improvements as the PC build.
