Windows 10 Movies & TV App Update Adds Maturity Ratings

Microsoft’s Movies & TV app (also called, Films & TV in some regions) has just updated on Windows 10 devices. The new update to the app brings a variety of bug fixes but also something quite significant, maturity ratings.

The maturity ratings implemented are those recognized by the relevant governments in different regions and appear between the year of release and media category on the series or movie product pages. Not all shows and films have maturity ratings listed though in all regions, most likely due to studios having to submit that data now while before they didn’t. For example, right now in the Australian Films & TV app, The Walking Dead has an MA15 rating while Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is “Unrated”.

The latest update also added, “Smarter default sorting” of users’ collections however it’s unclear what exactly was changed. Have you spotted any differences after the latest update?
