Windows 10 1803 Release Remains Uncertain as Microsoft Considers Rolling Out a New RTM Build

It was believed that Windows 10 Redstone 4 Build 17133 was the Release to Manufacturers (RTM) build that would be released to the public. The Windows maker also rolled out a cumulative update to this build and was highly expected to push Windows 10 1803 to the public on April 10. As we reported earlier this week, Windows 10 1803 has been delayed due to an unspecified “blocking bug” and it now appears that the company is considering to push a fresh new build to its Insider community.

Windows 10 1803 might get a new RTM build

New evidence now points to Windows 10 Build 17134. Windows build tracker, BuildFeed, has confirmed that Windows 10 17134 exists. However, it can’t be confirmed whether this is the RTM build.

If the company is indeed going to release a fresh new Windows 10 1803 build, it might bug some Windows 10 fans who have already downloaded build 17133 believing it was the one that would be released to the public. However, it is likely that those early adopters (not Insiders) will be upgraded to the new build without having to clean install Windows 10 1803.

Adding to the previous reports that Microsoft was considering a name change for the upcoming Windows 10 version, BuildFeed also said that “the name ‘Spring Creator’s Update’ is probably no longer a thing (though it definitely was at some stage).”

Windows 10 1803 aka Spring Creators Update has been one of the most controversial releases coming from Microsoft. The upcoming Windows version has long been ridiculed for its name and now the public release date also appears to be uncertain. When reached out to Microsoft for a comment, the Redmond tech giant said it currently has no updates to offer. We will see if we get to test the rumored build 17134 this week and potentially see the upcoming Windows 10 version releasing to the public next week.
