    I like to use the jack of all trades video player VLC.

    But nowadays I usually just stream my shows/movies through dlna onto the TV.

    with a low quality video, open with vlc, the quality would be better than all the other players would give you
    but with a high quality video, use km player. use km player for EVERYTHING except low quality files

    I use Media Player Classic which comes with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, been using it for years and never had any issues.
