Hope this is in the right place

A few days ago I signed up to NordVPN after looking around, they seemed to come out on top, price and service wise.
But I'm struggling to seed and I like seeding.
I have 2 pcs, one running just private trackers 24/7 (not VPN'd)
The other, runs Utorrent 3.2.3 about 18 hours a day, my work, rest and play PC, This is the one I want to protect as I use it to get TV shows etc from public trackers. Normally I have 10 or less torrents seeding on a 14:1 ratio.
However, since installing Nord sometimes I have no activity and when I do, its only ever one torrent seeding @ 200kb/s at the absolute max - I have 10 times more than that to give.
I'v tried socks5 and the programme (hate the word "app" ), switched servers tried various utorrent setting changes all produce similar disappointing upload speeds and behaviour on torrents.
If I turn all the VPN stuff off I'll be seeding 4/5 things at once and max my upload on utorrents.

I can't get it out of my head that I can't port forward with the VPN (nord doesn't support it) I'm wondering if that's the issue?

If any of you know about this and can help or if you know another VPN that better supports forwarding etc, I be very grateful.
I thought they'd be some speed issues but its going to take ages to seed back at my normal amount at this rate
BTW general surfing and internet speed tests under the VPN are great, almost as good as with it off.

I have a few suggestions here for you mate.
1. Downgrade your uTorrent to v2.2.1. and Then follow the below steps.
2. Get Cyberghost VPN. I could always link ou for a forevers free and premium version of the app.
3. Make changes to some settings to utorrent, follow the images for better explanation..

I've gone back to the suggested version, made settings changes---to be honest they're weren't any changes to make, changed port from 40*** to one above 60*** but that was about it
Thing is, although there was lots of mention of a 24hour free trail of Cyberghost in various reviews I've been reading, I couldn't find any reference to it when redirected back to their site--Seems like you gotta pay to play. I'm not willing to cough up $$££ again with out seeing its seeding performance. So if there is anyway you can help out I'd be grateful again

Thanks for you heip @Gugli sadly Cyberghost didn't cut it for me compared to Nord.

So if anyone else has any ideas I'm all ears...(or eyes as I will be reading your post)

The first (& most important imo)
would be to dump µTorrent
because of known security issues with that client.

The client I use is qBittorrent,
which is also open source.

Also,
qBittorrent has the ability
specify the NetWork InterFace to "Local Area Connection 2"
which I can Configure my VPN (PIA) to only use.
That way if my VPN drops off,
no traffic no detection.

Hey Muse, so I'm also wondering if all you need to do is seed. Then why not buy a seedbox? I don't personally use a VPN but an Rdp and tor proxies. Ofcourse toe isn't for seeding. I'd just of all you wanna do is seed. Then don't buy a VPN. Rather a seedbox. And use a free vpn. Like the one I mentioned earlier.

Hi Gugli, Don't really want or need a seedbox as I have decent unlimited ISP speed, the VPN works not just for torrenting (Anonymously) but also for getting round all the websites that are now blocked here in the UK. Also seedboxes seem to be on the whole a bit more money per month

I use qbitorrent on my server which is for private trackers and not VPN'd...Utorrents is used out of habit and...well really ...the stat history, silly I know, but I've used it for years and don't want to give that up, I like qbittorent though, so may be one day...I looked long and hard at PIA--they have port forwarding in OpenVPN don't they? Is that how you're set up?
Would you say you're seeding is as good with it running?

I'd expect some loss, but I'm seeding on average less than half what I used to do a day

Yes, PIA has Port Forwarding, which I use.

Search on "qBittorent Tips" & "Optimizing qBittorent" for tuning suggestions.

Also, PIA is Allowed on Up To Five (5) Devices...

@DeeperThought do those port settings last if the device in question is turned off, overnight for example?
