    @MrMuse:

    I have a Dedicated Computer Aliased for all my Torrent Activity
    which I leave on all the time.

    I do ReBoot occasionally for maintenance.

    What I find is usually the same port retains,
    presuming the VPN Connection Location is the same.

    Upon ReStarting the Computer,
    after PIA ReConnects I check if the Port is the same.

    When it does change (rarely),
    I simply make the change in my Router prior to Starting qBitttorent,
    the after starting qBittorrent,
    make the change there.

    ;r

    p.s.
    I have had to leave the Computer off for hours (4-12) for various reasons,
    more times than not the port has remained the same,
    again presuming the VPN Connection Location is the same.

    Thats exactly what I wondered and what I'd hope would happen, that it would keep the settings if the server stayed the same...
    Thanks for the info, my friend....food for thought.
    I've got Nord working ok at the moment---managing 10 gbs up in around 16 hrs, but when there is no VPN I'll be around 26+gb's, so its quite a shortfall

    @DeeperThought
    Thank you for mentioning PIA, my friend.
    I left Nord and joined them.
    Have done approx 1 week of testing and I think I'll stick with them.
    Best I've tried for seeding back, which is what I was interested in. Obviously its not as quick as my non VPN's connection, but is a lot better than Nord.
    eg
    No VPN 26-28GB daily
    With PIA - average 18-20gbs. (Max 38gbs)
    Its weird tho because some days are deffo better than others, even with the same seeding torrents, I guess its traffic on the VPN server itself. But the portforwarding option definitely helps.
    The downside-
    Their client software is pants, it works of course, but asking your SW firewall for permission on every start up of the programme is annoying (wrote a script to give permission on boot up)
    GEEK ALERT-Looking into it, its due to the fact it unpacks an .exe [rubyw.exe] to a temp folder each time PIA is launched. So each time the FW sees it as a new .exe . I doubt if you're just using the Windows firewall it happens, but cleverer ones spot the "new" file.
    Another thing, sometimes switching country just doesn't seem to work, but I dont do that often so, not that bothered.
    Tried using OpenVPN with PIA servers, but in my brief fiddle, couldn't get Utorrents to perform as well as with their crappy client..I will no doubt fiddle more in future time permitted.
    NEway cheers again, for I'm happy.
    May be this will help others keen to seed...I worry about the future of torrents if everyone just hits download, then quits
    Cheers
