Twitter has just announced the release of its official client on Windows 10 Mobile, basically upgrading the app that was available on Windows 10 PCs to universal and thus pushing it to smartphones as well.

Twitter is now a universal app that shares the same look and features on all Windows 10 devices, be they PCs, tablets, or smartphones. It can adapt to different screen sizes, so a similar experience is offered to all users.
GIF support still not available The application arrives on Windows 10 Mobile with the best Twitter has to offer right now, including Moments, group direct messages, tweet video using the phone camera, quote tweet and top tweet access. Some features that are available on iOS and Android, such as GIF support, is not yet offered to Windows 10 or Windows 10 Mobile users.
Twitter also lands on Microsoft’s new Windows 10 Mobile with a dark theme, and you can change the looks by simply going to Settings and Personalization. At the first glance, the dark skin looks pretty awesome, although some users might still prefer the light version because everything seems to be easier to read, especially when the Twitter stream is updated every second.
“When bringing the app to mobile phones we carefully considered each section of Twitter and how the user interaction translates from desktops and tablets. We found that 90% of the UI and interaction models could be shared from these devices to mobile phones, but there were places where we decided to make adjustments to optimize for each,” Angela Lam, product designer at Twitter, explained.
It goes without saying that Twitter is available free of charge on both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile and anyone can download it right now from the store. All Windows 10 Mobile can get it, including retail devices, such as Lumia 950 and 950 XL, but also those running insider preview builds.
