After such a long wait, Windows Phone device owners could finally get the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile if a statement released by Microsoft Mexico on its Facebook page is accurate.

And yet, don’t get your hopes too high on this, as this isn’t the first time Microsoft publishes details regarding the release date of Windows 10 Mobile that in the end turn out to be inaccurate.
Back in late 2015, information posted by Microsoft on Facebook claimed that Windows 10 Mobile was scheduled to go live in late December, and here we are in February still waiting for the new operating system.
Microsoft is going for a more evasive approach this time, so the new release date for Windows 10 Mobile is “early 2016,” which clearly gives more time to the company to work on the operating system, and without a specific launch date, it could push it back should any major bug be experienced.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107 Although Microsoft has already started work on Windows 10 Mobile Redstone and the first builds have already been released to insiders with new Lumia phones, there’s one particular build from the TH2 branch that seems to be working quite smoothly on the majority of Windows Phone devices.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107, which is available to all insiders enrolled in any ring, is described as “production-ready” by many of the users who have already installed it on their devices, offering the best performance and the smallest number of bugs seen until now.
And while the word “bugs” might have nothing in common with the idea of “final release,” it’s worth mentioning that both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile are based on a different approach as compared to the previous OS versions released by Microsoft. Both are “never done,” as Microsoft says, and are getting updates at a much faster pace thanks to a new strategy that’s supposed to bring improvements when they’re ready and without the need to wait for specific larger releases.
New mobile build to be the final build? Even though the February 29 release date is uncertain, rumor has it that Microsoft could release a new Windows 10 Mobile build these days, which could actually be the final one. Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.122 has already been spotted online and could bring a new set of improvements on all devices and thus prepare them for the final release.
Of course, nothing is certain right now, and the secrecy that Microsoft seems to love so much these days is indeed giving the company more time when it comes to the release date. But at the same time, it’s also hurting the platform because the long wait for Windows 10 Mobile is becoming more and more frustrating even for the most loyal Windows Phone users.
