If you're a Skype user, you must certainly know that Microsoft has decided to kill the Modern version of the application, so the company is now fully focused on making the desktop client for Windows much better in a way that would allow it to be used with both a mouse and touch.

A new version of Skype has been offered today, but Microsoft is yet to provide us with a change log for this release, so it's safe to assume that it's specifically developed to fix bugs and improve the overall performance on Windows.

Skype 7.6 also comes with an updated collection of emoticons, some of them having already been implemented in previous builds, but all supposed to make the overall experience with the app a little bit more pleasant.

Updated clients of Skype for other platforms are expected to be released soon in order to get all the new emoticons, so keep an eye on your phones in the next couple of days.

Needless to say, everyone should get the new version of Skype, especially if they're using it on a regular basis, as the bug fixes that could be part of this release could significantly improve its performance.

All in all, it's good to see Microsoft update its software at a much faster pace, so go ahead and download Skype for Windows to keep your computer up to date.
