Microsoft Edge is the new Windows 10 browser that comes with a new UI, a new engine, a new feature lineup, and a completely new approach, as it’s available on PCs, tablets, and smartphones with the same functionality.

But as far as the interface is concerned, Microsoft really struggled to make Edge as fresh and modern as possible, so it might be a little bit surprising to hear that some people want the new browser to actually look just like Internet Explorer.

As odd as that might sound, it makes sense. A UserVoice post, which has nearly 2,500 votes right now, explains that such a feature would be more helpful because everyone is already familiar with Internet Explorer, so it would be easier to use the new browser.

“Microsoft Edge should have an option to look like IE 11, making the switch for IE users less painful. This encourages the transition from Microsoft's old browser to their new one and helps to ensure no users are lost to alternative web browsers in the process. Basically, it's a win for everyone - Microsoft gets people to use Edge, while IE users can properly visualise the new browser as an evolutionary step up from IE 11 rather than a forced replacement,” the post reads.
Dark theme for Windows 10

Microsoft Edge comes not only with a new user interface but also with two theme options, light and dark, with the latter perfectly getting in line with Redmond’s new visual style used in Windows 10.

Edge is expected to receive more refinements in the coming months, even though Windows 10 will launch on July 29, as Microsoft promised to continue work on the browser for new features that would greatly improve our experience on both PCs and mobile devices.

Edge will be offered as a universal app, so it’ll work not only on the traditional desktop but also on smartphones and tablets.
