While Microsoft remains completely tight-lipped on the release date of Windows 10 Mobile, the company’s Mexican subsidiary revealed in a Facebook post earlier this month that the new operating system could launch for Windows Phone devices on February 29.

And while there was no confirmation for this schedule, such information made everyone dreaming once again, especially given the fact that Windows 10 Mobile already got delayed two times (or at least that’s what sources claim, as Microsoft has never confirmed or denied a release date for the OS).
But with Microsoft going for a strategy that seems to be causing more frustration in the Windows community, loyal Windows Phone users don’t seem to put their trust in such rumors and almost nobody seems to expect the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade to ship on February 29.
Certainly, the release of Windows 10 Mobile in just a couple of days would be excellent news for Windows Phone fans, but posts all over the web, including in a reddit thread and in comments submitted by our readers, indicate that not even long-time WP users hope to get the new OS on Monday.
The secrecy might be killing the platform Although Microsoft has pledged to work together with users on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile (and the company actually does that up to a certain point), the lack of transparency and information regarding the debut of its new smartphone platform seems to be doing more harm than good.
Microsoft has remained completely tight-lipped on any details regarding the launch date of Windows 10 Mobile, and according to people close to the matter, the company has already pushed back the release at least a couple of times. Initially scheduled to go live in December 2015, the launch was reportedly pushed to January because of additional work that was needed on the platform, only to get postponed once again until February.
Now February 29 seems to be the new deadline, albeit not confirmed by Microsoft, and although nobody seems to believe that Windows 10 Mobile could see daylight in a couple of days, we’re pretty sure that there still is a little hope in every Windows Phone fan out there that this could actually happen. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out the truth.
