Microsoft had already presented the new Spartan browser during a press conference at its Redmond headquarters on January 21, and the company did the same today at MWC 2015, when it finally introduced the mobile version of the app in action.

Spartan development advances at a really fast pace these days and now it seems that Microsoft is finally ready to release it for users, so the next version of Windows 10 is very likely to include the new browser as well.

A report published by The Verge and citing Microsoft Office Product Manager Julia White reveals that Spartan is expected to make its debut in the very next Windows 10 Technical Preview, which should debut in the next few weeks, most likely before the end of the month.

Offered alongside Internet Explorer

Spartan is a completely new browser that's based on a modern engine and comes with a plethora of new features, including collaboration and sharing tools that should greatly increase productivity on the web.

The browser will be offered as a universal app and will be available across all devices running Windows 10, so you'll be able to run it not only on PCs but also on tablets and smartphones.

Spartan will initially be offered together with Internet Explorer for compatibility purposes, but at some point in the future, the old browser will go dark to make room for this new app.

Microsoft was initially expected to roll out the new Windows 10 build before the end of February, but the company might have pushed back the release because of the work it's now doing on Spartan. The new browser will be a key part of the operating system, so delivering a Technical Preview build with the app in order to collect feedback and improve it before the final release is a priority.

The new Windows 10 build will be released through the same built-in update system, so all Windows Insiders should automatically get it once it becomes available.
