Today, March 22, 2016, the Manjaro development team proudly announced the general availability of a new stable update for the Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) computer operating system.

With today's update, Manjaro Linux 15.12 users will receive the recently released Linux 4.5 kernel, along with the KDE Applications 15.12.3 software suite for the KDE Plasma 5.5.5 desktop environment, and of course, updates to many of the core components and applications.
Among these, we can mention the latest Cinnamon 2.8.7 desktop environment, Opera 36 stable web browser, LibreOffice 5.1.1 "Fresh" office suite, and the Pamac 3.2.1 graphical package manager. Additionally, the VirtualBox modules have been updated for all supported Linux kernels (see below for details).
"We are happy to announce our thirteenth update of Manjaro 15.12 (Capella)," reads today's announcement. "It is always good to check for updated packages; even we don’t notify you about them. As usual, people using our testing branch will help us to get snaps over to our branch almost smoothly."
The repos have been synchronized with upstream As usual with any new Manjaro stable update, the March 22 one synchronizes the main software repositories with the upstream ones of the Arch Linux operating system, on which Manjaro Linux is currently based, thus bringing the latest security patches and software updates.
Besides adding support for Linux kernel 4.5, Manjaro Update 2016-03-22 (stable) updates the supported kernels to Linux 3.10.100 LTS, Linux 3.12.56 LTS, Linux 3.13.11.35, Linux 3.14.64 LTS, Linux 3.16.7.25, Linux 3.18.28 LTS, Linux 3.19.8.15, Linux 4.1.19 LTS, Linux 4.2.8.4, and Linux 4.3.6, which reached end of life.
If you're using any of the official Manjaro Linux 15.12 (Capella) editions, you are urged to apply the Manjaro Update 2016-03-22 (stable) as soon as possible. The update pack is now live in the main software repositories and all you need to do to keep your Manjaro installation up-to-date is to run the default package manager.
