Microsoft has announced that they will make the update process for Windows 10, Office 365 ProPlus, and System Center Configuration Manager more streamlined and predictable. Every year, Redmond will release two feature updates in the month of March and September along with 18-month support.
Following the recent release of the Creators Update, Microsoft has announced its plans to streamline the update schedule for Windows 10, Office 365 ProPlus, and the System Center Configuration (SCCM).

According to a company blog post, from now on Microsoft would be sticking to a “predictable twice-per-year feature release schedule”. The latest move by Redmond is to make the Windows update process more predictable and clear, especially to corporate firms which plan their operation in advance, and to align it with the Office update.

With the said change in consideration, Microsoft will release the updates for Windows 10, SCCM, and Office 365 in September and March every year.

The latest change doesn’t put an end to the release of security patches for these products. They will be pushed to the users as soon as they’re ready.

The company will be offering the 18-month technical support for every feature update which is already followed in the case of Windows 10. So, the user would have to keep their systems updated to continue receiving the support.

The next feature update for Windows 10 is scheduled for September 2017.
