Microsoft has recently released a new driver update for its Surface Book that includes the latest software for the NVIDIA GeForce GPU unit.

The version number of this new driver is 10.18.13.6472, and according to Microsoft, its main purpose is to improve stability, so all Surface Book owners getting this update are recommended to download it as soon as possible.
It’s worth noting that since this update brings just a new NVIDIA driver version, only Surface Book models with a dedicated GPU unit are getting it.
Microsoft says that the update is now being shipped to devices, and the rollout takes place gradually, so it could take a while until everyone gets it.
“When Surface updates are provided via the Windows Update service, they are delivered in stages to Surface customers. As a result, not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but the update will be delivered to all devices. If you have not received the update then please manually check Windows Update later,” the company explains.
This isn’t quite a huge update, but it’s clearly worth installing, especially if you’ve experienced GPU-related issues in the past. Microsoft is hard at work to improve performance and stability of the Surface Book, and these updates clearly come in handy. Make sure you have a look in Windows Update to get it as soon as possible.
