Microsoft’s Spartan Browser Looks Surprisingly Good in Design Concept
Rumor has it that Microsoft is working to bring a new browser in Windows 10, and people close to the matter have revealed that the project is internally codenamed “Spartan,” but it’s not yet clear whether the same name could be used for the final app or not.
Either way, details on Spartan are really scarce right now, but designers across the world rushed to release their very own concepts envisioning the looks of the app.
This is the case of the concept you see here, which, according to DeviantArt user seniaku, can still be refined with more features and visual improvements.
In fact, nobody knows exactly what Spartan is going to look like, but unconfirmed information reveals that the browser could come with a tab bar at the top of the main window, as well as with support for extensions and more customization options.
What’s more, Spartan will be designed from the very beginning to be faster and easier to use, so expect several other options to be available as well. An interface similar to the one of Google Chrome is very likely, unconfirmed reports claim.
Spartan might initially be offered alongside Internet Explorer, but it wouldn't be surprising at all if at some point it replaces the original Microsoft browser altogether.
Redmond is planning a mixed offering in order to address any compatibility issue that might arise because of the new browser, which will reportedly come with an updated version of the Trident engine.
Details remain fairly vague right now, but more info should be provided later this month, during a Windows 10 event held in Redmond and focused on the consumer experience on the new OS.

I'm looking forward to Windows 10, seems Microsoft is making changes we want not what they think we want. A screenshot from an older build was leaked (https://bgr.com/2015/01/06/microsoft...ernet-browser/) and gives us a general idea of what the browser will look like. Seems the big feature for it will be voice commands.

Sounds good but I hope they don't launch it missing features that you would expect. They've managed to launch replacement software over the last few years that just didn't make the cut compared to that which was replaced such as the one drive app over live mesh or xbox music to zune. Not too much of a problem for windows 8 users but if you're still on 7 then you're getting the short end of the stick.
