Microsoft has just announced that Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.122 is now available for download for members of the Insider program enrolled in the slow and release preview rings.

The new build comes as part of a cumulative update and is supposed to bring Windows 10 Mobile in line with Windows 10 for PCs, as the latter has received the very same .122 version as part of a separate CU released yesterday.
According to Gabe Aul, head of the Insider program, this new build is particularly focused on feedback received from new Lumia devices that shipped with Windows 10, including Lumia 950, 950 XL, 550, and 650. It’s also supposed to improve the upgrade experience from Windows Phone 8.1, which could be a sign that Microsoft’s working to bring the upgrade version to the market in the coming weeks.
Starting with this build, the Current Branch also supports four new devices, as it follows: MCJ Madosma Q501, BLU Win HD W510U, BLU Win HD LTE X150Q, and ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fierce XL.
Lots of bug fixes, no known bugs There are several fixes in this build (which you can check out in the box at the end of the article), but no known bugs, which is a little surprising, but also encouraging given the fact that everyone is waiting for Microsoft to push the “red” button for Windows 10 Mobile upgrades aimed at Windows Phone 8.1 devices.
In case you are wondering how come this build is aimed at slow ring users, but not at those in the fast ring, Gabe Aul has a simple explanation:
“Windows Insiders with devices on the Fast ring which are not yet receiving updates from the Development Branch would need to temporarily switch to the Slow or Release Preview rings if they want to receive this build.”
Obviously, if you want to try out the upgrade experience, you need to restore to Windows Phone 8.1 using WDRT and then upgrade back to Windows 10 Mobile, but that’s clearly a thing that not everyone is willing to do since it takes so much time.
