Microsoft promised to roll out the new Office productivity suite for Windows 10 for phones preview in late April, and it appears that we’re only a few days away from this moment.

Today, the company has updated the PC version of the Office Touch version, pushing all apps to version 10071 (exclusively available via the Windows 10 store), which could be a sign that Redmond is ready to deliver an updated build of Windows 10 for phones to devices enrolled in the Windows Insider program that would also include this pack.

Office Touch is already available in the form of a preview for Windows 10 users, but Microsoft wants to bring the very same apps on smartphones and tablets as well, so all of them need to be synchronized and have the same version in order to provide a seamless experience across devices.

Recent leaks have shown that Microsoft has already reached version 10070 with Windows 10 for phones development, so the company could push build 10071 to insiders on Wednesday, when the BUILD 2015 developer conference officially opens its doors.

Interestingly, rumor has it that Microsoft could also launch an updated version of the Windows 10 Technical Preview for PCs, but it’s not yet clear whether the release would take place at BUILD or shortly after that.

But one thing is for sure: BUILD 2015 will come with plenty of news regarding Windows 10 for phones and PCs, so keep your devices around you to be the first to get the updates.
