So far Windows 10 Redstone 4 has been nothing but a headache for users. From the lack of a name to having no clue about its release date, the upcoming version of Windows 10 is certainly trying everything to keep us hooked to its release. Microsoft also had to release a new release to manufacturers (RTM) build yesterday since the original build would have likely resulted in more Blue Screens of Death (BSOD).

The release of Windows 10 Redstone 4 was originally expected on April 10. When nothing arrived on that day, some reports suggested that the delay could be because of Microsoft considering a name change for the operating system. While Windows maker had never confirmed the name of the upcoming Windows 10 version, it did refer to it as Spring Creators Update in internal documentation. That didn’t make users happy since Redstone 4 would have actually been third Creators Update and second Spring Creators Update as the original Creators Update was actually released in March. Not to forget the whole debate on how these seasons don’t work for the Southern hemisphere.

Head spinning? Microsoft might finally be bringing some clarity.

Windows 10 April 2018 Update – makes sense?

Microsoft enthusiast @h0x0d has suggested that the upcoming Windows 10 version could simply be called Windows 10 April 2018 Update.

This might not be the best name in the world but it certainly makes more sense than Spring Creators Update since we have already seen enough of creativity happening and it is now getting confusing for the end user.

It should be noted again that Microsoft still hasn’t officially confirmed the name. At this time, it’s anyone’s guess over what it is going to be called. The company is currently working on the newly released RTM build that has been made available to the Fast ring. Once it goes through the Slow and Release Preview rings, Windows 10 Redstone 4 aka Spring Creators Update aka April 2018 Update should be available to the public – hopefully by next week.
