Windows 10 build 10166 is now available for insiders enrolled in the fast track, and with only about two weeks left until Microsoft introduces the final version of the operating system, users can finally see what the new Windows is all about with one of the most stable and reliable builds released so far.

Just as expected, build 10166 doesn't bring much in terms of new features because Microsoft is more focused on fixing bugs and improving the overall performance, so it's more likely to get significant enhancements across the whole operating system than new features and options.

Microsoft Edge, for example, received its own share of goodies in build 10166, and as the software giant itself reveals, the browser comes with several bug fixes too.

In addition, the new Windows 10 version also brings Edge improved support for about:flags in locales other than en-US, while the localhost loopback is now enabled by default and you can toggle localhost by navigating to about:flags.
Save your favorites!

Just like in the previous releases, Microsoft reminds that Edge has been rebranded from Project Spartan, so you might have to save your favorites manually and import them in the new browser once you complete the upgrade.

To do that, just copy your favorites from:

%localappdata%/Packages/Microsoft.Windows.Spartan_cw5n1h2txyewy/AC/Spartan/User/Default/Favorites

To:

%userprofile%/Favorites

“After upgrading to the next build open Microsoft Edge, choose Settings, and you'll see an option to import favorites from another browser. Choose Internet Explorer to import the favorites you saved in your %userprofile% directory into Microsoft Edge,” Microsoft explains.

Edge will be the default browser in Windows 10 and will be available as a universal app across PCs, tablets, and smartphones. More features will be added with an update later this year, including support for Google Chrome extensions to extend the default functionality of the application on any Windows 10 device.
