Microsoft launched the second-generation Band in October, and since then, the company has rolled out discounts every once in a while in order to make the device a little bit more affordable.

And today it’s that day again, so you can purchase the Band 2 for just $174.99 (€165) for a limited time, straight from the Microsoft Store. The discount applies to all versions of the Band, including the small, medium, and large.
The Band 2 was originally more expensive than the first generation, as Microsoft was selling it for $249.99 (€230) as compared to $199 (€180) for the first model. But thanks to these discounts, the device is now even more affordable than its predecessor, although the first generation is also getting some discounts of its own at both Microsoft and other retailers.
Redmond hasn’t yet provided any sales figures on the new Band, but the first model was very successful, and the company expects at least the same performance from the second version. Obviously, this new one comes with several improvements, including a curved screen to make it more comfortable, as well as a barometer to measure elevation more accurately.
Just like the first model, the Band 2 works with devices running major mobile platforms, including Windows Phone, Android, and iPhone thanks to the cross-platform support of the Health app.
