After announcing the general availability of the eleventh update pack for the current stable release of the Arch Linux-based operating system, Manjaro leader Philip Müller informed the media about the release of Manjaro Linux 16.06 Pre1.

Believe it or not, the first Preview build of the upcoming Manjaro Linux 16.06 distribution is now available for download, and according to the press release, it packs in a whole lot of features including one of the most polished and integrated Xfce 4.12 desktop environment experiences.
As you can see from the screenshot attached at the end of the article, the flagship Xfce edition of Manjaro Linux 16.06 will be dressed with the new Maia theme that is already available for the KDE flavor of the upcoming operating system, which will be dubbed "Daniella."
"It took us three months to prepare this first preview of our upcoming stable release we call Daniella," said Philip Müller on behalf of the Manjaro development team. "The Xfce edition remains our flagship offering and has received the attention it deserves. Few can claim to offer such a polished, integrated and leading-edge Xfce experience."
KDE Plasma 5.5, Linux kernel 4.4 LTS, Pamac 3.2, and much more Among other new technologies that will be available in the upcoming Manjaro Linux 16.06 "Daniella" operating system, we can mention the latest KDE Plasma 5 desktop environment (the first Preview ships with Plasma 5.5, but we hope to see Plasma 5.6 in the final release), as well as the long-term supported Linux 4.4 kernel.
Furthermore, the Pamac 3.2 graphical package manager will provide users with a powerful front-end for Arch Linux's latest Pacman 5.0 and its new hooks feature, offering support for choosing which packages to install, improved download cancellation, and the ability to set a longer timeout on slow Internet connections.
And, of course, Manjaro Linux 16.06 will offer users the ability to install a kernel package of their choice from the twelve branches available and supported in the main software repositories of the GNU/Linux distribution through the easy-to-use Manjaro Settings Manager graphical utility.
Download Manjaro Linux 16.06 Pre1 (Net Installer) right now and take it for a test drive, as well as the Xfce Edition and KDE Edition, but please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, which means that it is not suitable for deployment in production environments where stability is of the essence.
