LG-G3-and-G-Watch-to-Arrive-at-ATT-700x325.jpg

LG’s getting ready to make waves with its newest mobile gadgets. The G3 has arrived in Korea already (where it’s doing battle with Samsung’s Galaxy S5), but the company’s newest flagship has yet to arrive in the US. The G Watch started selling this week, but LG fans won’t need to wait too much longer to buy that new smartphone to complement their new LG Android Wear smartwatch.

The LG G3 is set to arrive at top US carrier AT&T on July 11, and will cost $199 with a two-year contract. The off-contract price, as revealed by US carrier T-Mobile, will cost $600 or so off-contract. The G3 features a 5.5-inch liquid crystal display (LCD) with a Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (538ppi). The LG G3 also features 2GB of RAM (16GB model; 32GB features 3GB of RAM) and comes in either 16GB or 32GB of memory storage with expandable memory storage up to 128GBs via the G3’s microSD card slot. A 13MP rear-facing camera with Laser Autofocus and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) as well as a 2.1MP front-facing camera provide a more than sufficient camera experience for photographers and the photographer at heart.

The LG G3 is powered by a 2,998mAh (~3,000mAh), removable and replaceable battery and features a 2.5Ghz, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which should more than do the job for excellent gaming graphics and on-screen experience. LG’s latest will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat (with future Google Android updates expected) and is also wireless charging compatible.

LG’s first Android Wear G Watch will go on sale with AT&T. It’s likely that this watch won’t come with a two-year contract but will simply cost $299 alongside of the $199 LG G3 smartphone price tag. The G Watch, however, features a 1.65-inch LCD screen with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance and a 400mAh battery for what many have said should provide “all day” battery life. The G Watch, like the Samsung Gear Live and the ASUS, OLED smartwatch that has yet to be given official specs, will all feature Google’s Google Now voice command as the main feature. In other words, Google Now’s voice command feature is used to make reminders, post new social media statuses, send text messages, make phone calls, set alarms, and so on.

Unlike the Samsung Gear Live, the G Watch doesn’t have a heart rate monitor, so the more health-conscious will likely choose Samsung’s Gear Live because of the heart rate monitor.
