KDE Plasma 5.5.5 is a just a bugfix release and it's not all that impressive. The developers have been pushing these small updates for a while now and they plan to continue support for the 5.5 branch of KDE Plasma until June 2016.
As you would expect, the developers have fixed just a few items and nothing major has been changed. Besides the fixes that have been implemented, the team also continued to refine the experience and some very small adjustments have been made as well.
KDE Plasma 5.5.5 has arrived It will be a while until this particular version lands in the repositories, but it should not be too long. In fact, it's very likely that KDE Plasma 5.5.5 will most likely be made available for Kubuntu 15.10 in the coming weeks.
"Today KDE releases a bugfix update to Plasma 5, versioned 5.5.5. Plasma 5.5 was released in December with many feature refinements and new modules to complete the desktop experience. This release adds a month's worth of new translations and fixes from KDE's contributors. The bugfixes are typically small but important," developers wrote in the official announcement.
According to the changelog, when all the screens are off while the lock screen is shown no longer results in the screen being unlocked, session switching when automatic screen locking is enabled has been fixed, and entries are no longer staying highlighted after the context menu closes.
