For a hardcore gamer - build your own (better system for less $$)
For a casual pubber - buy whatever (any $1600-$1800 prebuilt system will do).

Oooohhhh hooooooww true. I agree with that.. AlienWare/(Dell in disguise) is seriously for people who want a fancy vent that opens with the push of a button that costs around 1200 usd.

Build your own for sure.. you can buy some pretty baddass chassis out there that house enough space for plenty of future upgrades. Not to mention.. they are just as fancy. Then go on eBay (of all places) or TigerDirect.. or Newegg or any other places that dabbles in such awesomeness and buy you top of the line components and hardwares for (seriously now) a fraction of the costs.

It isn't that hard to put them together either.

On a side note: If you have the kind of money that is required to buy a system pre-made and packaged for you.. and you want some serious gaming rig action... Go all out and get MainGear!!! (( Yes.. that is a Link))

Alienware is the way to go for top performance, but it'll cost you a pretty penny. I however bought all my pc parts on newegg and built my computer myself for about half the price of the top of the line pc's from alienware at the time.
