Why not just buy an enclosure - I use these: http://www.newlinkproducts.co.uk/pro...D=6&prodID=294 and buy a regular internal hard drive to go in it - your choice re: brand and size. I've used the above enclosures (I have about six) with Seagate drives for about four years now. Never had a problem. You can power them off and prolong the life of the drive during times when you don't need access the data.

You never know what quality hard drive is in the ready made ones and the above enclosures have their own power supply vs. being self powered. I use mine all day every day for torrenting, have done for years and have had no problems. Be wary of buying a cheap enclosure and a cheap hard drive combo though!

from teh link that you gave me there there was this

    3.5 Inch IDE/SATA HDD Enclosure (NL-HD29)
3.5 Inch Combo Enclosure USB 2.0 to IDE or SATA & eSATA to SATA only connections, functions are switchable

what does it mean, what is a 2.0 USB, what is the memory of it
and is this the internal harddrive

Seconding using an enclosure, comes in handy for backing up other drives too. Plus the whole issue of cost, you can end up with more space vs. price on internal+enclosure than you will be getting on a external, for sure.

i already figured it out, comes out way cheaper if i save them into CDs, 9$ for 100 CD with 4.7GB each
thats at least 450GB for 9$ and the CDs will last for many many years instead of frying whenever they feel like it

I'd always back up my stuff bro, even if your putting them on cd.
CDs scratch easily so make sure to back it up: )
