Ugh, VLC is meh. I use MPC-Black Edition or MPC-HC. The first one is the best IMO.

MPC-HC since I found VLC to be very processor heavy

I never really liked MPC-HC, it usually messes up when playing something. VLC has always been consistent for me, never really saw a need to change.

Used BSPlayer for a long time, now VLC.
