LG brings G Pad 10.1 to the US, other markets to come
LG-to-unveil-three-new-G-Pad-tablets-700x325.jpg
LG Electronics announced its G Pad 7.0, 8.0, and 10.1 in May, but there’d been little in the way of follow-up as to when LG customers worldwide could expect to see the new tablets. LG has finally decided to bring these tablets out of its warehouses and to the world. The first country to experience one of the “Life’s Good” tablets? The United States.
The G Pad 10.1, LG’s 10.1-inch tablet, is the first tablet to arrive in the US. In addition to its 10-inch display, the G Pad 10.1 comes with a 1280 x 720p screen resolution, a 1.2Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 16GB of internal memory storage and 1GB of RAM, an 8,000mAh battery, and will run Android KitKat out of the box. The KnockCode feature, QPair, Dual Window, Smart Keyboard, Gesture Shot (for Selfies), and the G3’s Touch and Shoot feature will all enhance the software experience.
The G Pad 10.1 is the first of the new G tablets to roll out globally, and the others will follow in the weeks to come (although we have no timetable as to when we can expect them). For now, however, you may be interested in knowing that the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition (GPE) tablet, not to mention the Xperia Z Ultra GPE and HTC One M7 GPE, has been pulled by Google from the Google Play Store. Could there be a second-generation G Pad 8.3 on the horizon? Perhaps, but we think Google’s taken it down to make room for the HTC Nexus 9 that should be announced any day.
