Sabayon Linux, an operating system designed for Linux enthusiasts who want the latest packages and the best performance based on Gentoo, is now at version 16.03 and is ready for download.

Gentoo used to be all the rage (not really, but quite popular) back in the day, but it's no longer on the front lines. It still has a strong core base of users, but you're going to have a hard time finding Gentoo-based Linux distributions.
This operating system is also following a rolling release model, and that means that changes and improvements are pushed on a constant basis. Technically, a new version is released every month, but it's just a respun image that contains all the modifications that have been made until now. It's especially useful for people who install Sabayon from scratch so that they don't have a lot catching up to do.
What’s new with Sabayon 16.03 Quite a few changes have been implemented, but the most important one seems to be the adoption of LibreOffice by default, which is actually returning.
"Sabayon 16.03 is a modern and easy to use Linux distribution based on Gentoo, following an extreme, yet reliable, rolling release model. This is a monthly release generated, tested and published to mirrors by our build servers containing the latest and greatest collection of software available in the Entropy repositories," developers have said.
According to the changelog, the Linux kernel has been upgraded to version 4.4, KDE-frameworks 5.19 and KDE Plasma 5.5.4 have been added, and a tech preview for Raspberry Pi 2 has been released as well.
More details about the features and improvements of this operating system can be found in the official announcement.
