Chrome 63 Overhauls Security and Redesigns Bookmark Manager

Chrome 63 recently started rolling out to desktop and other platforms. The version brought usual security enhancements alongside new developer feature. On desktop browsers, Chrome 63 brings Material Design to the Bookmark Manager. To recall, with previous Chrome versions Google began updating various browser elements with Material Design such as Downloads, History, and Settings. And now, it has applied it to the Bookmark Manager.

    Material Design for Bookmark Manager

With Chrome 63, the Bookmark Manager gets usual Materials UI elements. These new elements in the Manager include an app bar that comes with a larger search bar alongside a dark blue theme adorned with various Material animations. Similarly, Google also transformed the Flags page to enable several development features. After updating to Chrome 63, one can check out the new redesigned Bookmark Manager by heading to Menu > Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.

Material Design in Bookmark Manager introduces improved spacing for the bookmarks list and also for the navigation drawer of folders. Now, both these features have larger fonts and icons that gives way to the more open appearance that looks better on larger screens. This improved spacing also shows up on other menus for shuffling bookmarks or creating new ones.

    Security improvements

With Chrome 63, Google introduces a new security feature – site isolation. This new feature is implemented to attract more companies to shift to Chrome from Microsoft’s Windows 10 Edge. Site Isolation will allow business admins to configure the browser to show content for each page in the way they want. It can also be customized so that specified webpages on the list can be kept isolated.

Site Isolation feature best suited for pages with sensitive information

The Site Isolation feature is designed to prevent malicious attacks that make use of vulnerabilities. This security feature enters the process when malicious attacks start running dangerous code to steal critical data and information.

Google recently explained that keeping each page isolated offers stronger and strengthened security. Google also suggests that Site Isolation feature is best-suited pages that need a log-in and carries delicate content. Google also asserts that this new feature will enhance memory usage on systems. It can also increase memory by 10-20 percent.

To enable this feature, go to Settings > About Chrome > Site Isolation > Enable.

    Nice news @Xanuda,
But from which version the isolation function will be available? I'm using Chrome 63 too, but I see no option for Site Isolation.
