home AV are pretty much a gimmick, you should stick with MS Defender. There's no point in paying for an AV solution in 2022 unless you want bells and whistles, you won't get a better protection than most free AVs out there (security/protection-wise) but don't take my words for it, look it up yourself

Windows Defender

Been using Avast for a while now. Overall it's fine. Is it the best? No, but it gets the job done. Can go with just Windows Defender only but prefer to have an actual antivirus installed.

All the anti-virus software I used in the past has made my old computers run real slow,
I usually found myself turning off their "realtime-protection" mode for my computer to run faster...
But now on my fast PC I don't even bother downloading an AV and just let the windows defender its job.
So I guess you can say I use Microsoft Security Essentials

I see Kaspersky has the highest votes, and it's my favorite anti-virus after trying alot of them actually.

Still using Kaspersky.

There's no need for an AV nowadays. Use the build-in ones.The other ones will slow down your PC.

No word, Kapersky is the best of the best.
