    1º Never search on the internet for the important sites, like bank account, shopping sites, etc. Go directly to the page. This will prevent phishing pages

    2º Beware with public trackers. We never know what we download, even if for a movie

    3º Update all softwares and keep the operating system updated as well

    4º Do not open unknown files via email

    I always do it and I do not use any antivirus!

    Been using the built-in windows defender for yonks, but I do use Windows Firewall Control to reign that in and that's a part of Malwarebytes now so I suppose thats the company I'll throw my hat in with.

    I used McAfee about a decade ago for no other reason than I had extra licenses laying around. I thought that it did a reasonably good job, but it was a resource hog at times. However, over the recent years, I've discovered that the Windows Security that comes with the operating system is actually more than adequate and doesn't noticeably slow down my system.
